Projects
Westside Boost is planning for excellence at Westside Global Awareness Magnet in a number of different areas. To accomplish our goals we have established four main committees. For more information or to volunteer please contact the committee Parent Chair.
Communications & Community Outreach
This team focuses on getting parents involved on campus. They coordinate volunteers, develop internal communications, maintain a parent database, our website and blog, and the newsletters. They also work on developing ties within the community, creating external communications, community outreach, press, public relations, school image (including working on the front signage with the facilities committee), and recruiting for our incoming kindergarten and 6th grade classes.
Facilities & Campus Beautification
This team works to beautify and green our campus, facilitate classroom improvements.
Fundraising
This team oversees the creation of opportunities to bring revenue to the projects that need funding. They head our fundraising activities, including direct pleas, events and campaigns, and developing relationships with corporate sponsors. They also support grant writing efforts through management & coordination, hit list creation, guidance, assistance with execution, budgeting, and financial management.
Academic Enrichment
This team works to develop and continue many wonderful academically enriching programs at Westside Global Awareness Magnet. This team works to support classroom aides, music curriculum and guitar lessons, theater program, art education, physical education, language clubs, library improvements, and mentoring programs.
